Is something going wrong since the user is not showing up? Or is this
something I need to configure?
No, this is normal. Try utwho.
The "user" in utdesktop is the name that might have been registered if
you registered that Sun Ray client.
Most people don't register desktops, it's not a very useful feature
(unless you want to put annotative information in the otherInfo field to
help specify the nearest printer or something like that and then
leverage it with custom scripts).
