Hello Anton,
Does Realplayer support the redirection of mp4 and WMV decoding to the
Sun Ray hardware?
Since Elisa and Totem are also part of Solaris I would like it if
gstreamer would support the redirection too.
Is there any work done in this area?
Kind regards,
Ivar

Subject: [SunRay-Users] status: mp4 and WMV decoding on sun ray from gstreamer
on solaris?
Hello,
Can anyone update me on the latest information on getting gstreamer to
use the same mp4 and WMV redirect functions now available in SRSS 4.1?
It would be nice if Solaris users would have the same performance as
Virtual Windows user when they play mp4 movies with the new SRSS 4.1
multimedia features ;-).
I noticed that the Elisa player in Nevada works not well from a Sun Ray.
Fonts are not ok while they are ok when the same user logs in from the
console.
Any suggestions how to solve this?
Video in Elisa is playing fully distorted on the Sun Ray which is also
not the case on the console.
I used the SRSS 4.1 demo videos fromt the Sun Ray supplemental directory.
Since both Totem and Elise uses the gstreamer framework it would be nice
if gstreamer would use the SRSS multimedia enhancements already
available in Windows.
Totem works as expected on the Sun Ray but can't match the frame rate
because it is not using optimised code for mp4 and WMV.
Kind regards,
Ivar
