The direct decode only works when coming from Windows via SRWC.
Enhanced YUV path using the xvideo extensions works from Solaris and
Linux (Xnewt is a requirement as well), but it is far more bandwidth
intensive than the direct decode.
If you want to play back these formats I'd suggest grabbing mplayer from
blastwave.
