The underlying framework of Elise and Totem is gstreamer.
# gstreamer-properties shows on the video tab that xvimagesink is used which will probably support Xvideo extensions. For the device I can select "Sun Ray video overlay" or "default". I think they are the same since I do not see any performance difference. But if anyone knows what "Sun Ray video overlay" really means please let me know.

Kind regards,

Ivar

No. I was trying to clarify that the direct decode only works via a Windows session. Linux and Solaris do not have that feature and rely on Xvideo extensions and YUV. I'm not up on Totem or Elisa, but the video player you choose has to be able to make use of Xvideo regardless of the format being played.

Hello Craig,

I bought the gstreamer fluendo mega codec bundle so I did not have to search for different players and codecs.
So I can play the formats with Totem and Elisa.
Or are you suggesting that mplayer performs better in a Sun Ray setting than Totem?

Ivar
