No. I was trying to clarify that the direct decode only works via a
Windows session. Linux and Solaris do not have that feature and rely on
Xvideo extensions and YUV. I'm not up on Totem or Elisa, but the video
player you choose has to be able to make use of Xvideo regardless of the
format being played.

Hello Craig,
I bought the gstreamer fluendo mega codec bundle so I did not have to
search for different players and codecs.
So I can play the formats with Totem and Elisa.
Or are you suggesting that mplayer performs better in a Sun Ray setting
than Totem?

Enhanced YUV path using the xvideo extensions works from Solaris and
Linux (Xnewt is a requirement as well), but it is far more bandwidth
intensive than the direct decode.
If you want to play back these formats I'd suggest grabbing mplayer
from blastwave.

Hello Anton,
I tried to play the sample mp4 and WMV9 video's form the Sun SRWC
package but the Nevada build 110 realplayer 11 does not support these
formats. So this is not a solution or do I need to install a special
codec pack?
If yes where can I find it?
Kind regards,
Ivar

Hello Anton,
Does Realplayer support the redirection of mp4 and WMV decoding to
the Sun Ray hardware?
Since Elisa and Totem are also part of Solaris I would like it if
gstreamer would support the redirection too.
Is there any work done in this area?
Kind regards,
Ivar
