Yeah, that will put a kink into the group discovery mechanism.

If the other options (VLAN?) don't pan out then take a look at
the 'utgmtarget' man page.  It lets you configure unicast targets
for group announcements.  It's intended as a last resort for
situations where both multicast and broadcast are disallowed
or flaky.  If you end up needing to use that then you'll need to do
a (warm) restart of all of the servers to get them to pick up the
target list.
