Lasse,
I did a new BE and tried your suggestions.

I stopped NWAM service, got rid of DHCP definition, created hostname.e1000g0
and edited /etc/hosts, according your suggestion.

Basically, I substituted header "OpenSolaris 2008.11 Installation/Configuration
Instructions" upto and including NWAM part with your suggestions.

Then I checked network connection but connection is dead. Is this expected, or
must connection work before I continue installation?

r...@frasse:/etc# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
e1000g0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
        inet 0.0.0.0 netmask ff000000 broadcast 0.255.255.255
        ether 0:1b:21:1e:2e:d0
vboxnet0: flags=201000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,CoS> mtu 1500
index 3
        inet 192.168.56.1 netmask ff000000 broadcast 192.255.255.255
        ether 8:0:27:eb:d0:da
lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252
index 1
        inet6 ::1/128

Then I did the DNS stuff as described in
http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/SRSS_4.1_on_OpenSolaris_2008.11#OpenSolaris_2009.06
# cp /etc/nsswitch.dns /etc/nsswitch.conf
# svcadm enable dns/client
# svcadm restart dns/client
But still I have no connection.

I rebooted and still no connection:

or...@frasse:~$ ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index 1
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
e1000g0: flags=1000851<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
        inet 192.168.0.181 --> 127.0.0.1 netmask ffffff00
vboxnet0: flags=201000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,CoS> mtu 1500
index 3
        inet 192.168.56.1 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.56.255
lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252
index 1
        inet6 ::1/128

So I must first get a connection before I continuing with the rest of the
install, right?

Just to confirm, if I want a SunRay server, I need a static IP? To get a static
IP adress is essential?
