This is a new opensolaris 2009.06 installation which has been upgraded to b125.
I have not tinkered with it. After your suggestions, I have this:

or...@frasse:~$ netstat -rn
Routing Table: IPv4
Destination Gateway Flags Ref Use Interface -------------------- -------------------- ----- ----- ---------- --------- 192.168.0.181 192.168.0.181 UH 1 0 e1000g0 192.168.56.0 192.168.56.1 U 1 0 vboxnet0 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 1 6 lo0

[...]

Change your gateway! At the moment you've got a static route pointing to your NIC, basically it's trying to use the NIC's IP as a gateway aswell. I had this issue on Sol10 and although OpenSol is a world away from Sol10 at times still I presume that this will work:

If you run sys-unconfig on the system you can reconfigure the NIC to the proper desired settings:

If you have a GUI on your machine you can always do things by clicking the network icon in the Gnome panel and doing things from there! I think that, that app is part of Avahi although I need someones confirmation for that.
