An update! I pretty much ruled out my friends arm being bionic and so producing weird results on his ipad1 running Oracle Virtual Desktop Client since i've had a go at it aswell. I'm pretty sure i'm not bionic!
It gets better! The four finger tap to raise the keyboard on the app only works when the ipad is in a vertical stand and not in a horizontal (landscape) one. Believe me .. we tapped! Also sometimes when the keyboard pop's up (when in vertical position on his ipad1) only the top of the keyboard shows with the function keys there. Using the gestures to drop en pop the keyboard solves this. unix on my ipad, it's awsome..
