I saw this last week. We fixed it by flashing the Sun Ray with the
latest firmware. I used the firmware which comes with 5.3.

I've set "set hires_tick=1" in /etc/system and rebooted.
The DTU is plugged directly into a 1G port of an X2200M2 with 8x2.7GHz
CPUs, 64GB of RAM and a load average of 0.15.
I have read that the 3 needs special network settings and I've set the
DTU to full duplex auto negotiate and I've played with the network
settings via ndd, although I'm not sure what is optimum. utcapture
shows no packet loss.
Forcing the screen resolution to 1600x1200 with utresadm stops the
flickering. At 1600 performance is not as good as an XVR-600 (which
scrolls text too fast!) but perfectly adequate, at 1920x1200 it is
like going back to a CG3.
