James, did you try optimice gnome options?
I have 200 DTUs, with solaris as sysop. I stop the fliker with: Force
compression (in the most cases), set parameters in my network switches
(specially in 3com switches), set hires tic, and optimice the gnome
options.
If you need the gnome setting tell me, i have a script.-
