Kernel Panics?

I've been using OS X since June. I use a wide variety of applications.
I've yet to see a kernel panic. I've had the finder restart on me
twice, I've had the whole system freeze once, and that was using WiMP
under classic. When I spawned a 4th stream from a music video site, it
hosed everything to where I couldn't force quit. I can excuse that the
same way I excused DOS application support on NT4 - I shouldn't be using
old, crappy software anyway <grin>

I've seen Linux kernel panics, I've seen them on Solaris and SunOS 4.
I've even seen them on development versions of HPUX (pre 11), I'd love
to hear what your environment and applications are that cause kernel
panics.

As far as hacks that emulate OS 9, I've set my wife's ibook up to be
just that. ASM duplicates the app switcher on the upper right, ifruit
(i think it's called) allows you to customize the apple menu. There are
various hacks that allow for a trash can on the desktop. There all
pretty easy to find online, a rudimentary search would have turned them
up.

I'm not some Apple loving zealot, I use Linux, 2k and XP for a variety
of other business needs. Sounds like you're expectations have been set
too high, or you're just resistant to change.
