Apple made PPC604e cards at 250 MHz and faster do not work in any 
machines except the 8600 Enhanced and 9600 Enhanced (AKA Kansas). 
There's something different about the power supply lines or some 
such.  I've never had one to examine, so I don't know the exact 
reason, but they don't work.
