I recently installed MacOS 9.1 on my J700 and now my machine does not recognize CDs when I put them in the drive.
This is the original Matsushita CR-506 that came with the J700. I've been able to boot from CD, so I know the CDROM drive is OK, and the Apple system profiler shows me the drive, but doesn't recognize that there is media in the drive. I did a clean universal MacOS 9.1 install, so I haven't installed any extra extensions or anything. Anyone know what I need to do to make this system recognize my CD-ROM drive?
