Delaying the inevitable (G4/933) perhaps, but looking for list veteran
advice between following two accelerator boards for my S900/233: Sonnet
Technologies Crescendo G4/450 MHz w/1024k 2:1 Cache vs. XLR8 MACh
Carrier SSE w/XLR8 MACh ZIF 450MHz 9x G4 1MB Cache Processor w/Altivec
(OCW $299 and $329, respectively). Aside from the ZIF "advantage" (think
they'll EVER make a chip over 450 for this machine?), can you pro's
articulate the pros and cons of each device - in language that neophytes
like myself can understand? Thanks, all!
