What is strange is that files I saved months to years ago have all gone generic--if they were html. Current saves are generic for several html programs, although GoLive now seems to recognize its own.
I did a desktop rebuild--no difference. And I'm booting off a different partition and OS--same problem. Just doesn't make any sense to me, but I guess I'll work around for now until I can take time for reinstall. Updated Norton AV and did a scan with nothing found. I think the error Norton picked up had to do with scanning older HFS partition with System works 6. Nothing shows wrong with Disk First Aid. Thought there might be some issue with preferences connecting creator and file type, but don't know why its cross OS. I'm stumped. Thanks for the input, Jeff, Howard.
