I've read somewhere that the audio stuttering problem with 6400-type machines are caused by timing incompatibilities between the G3 upgrade card and the pci controller. I downloaded PCI Timing Update, an extension designed for 7200-based Power Computing Macs. The Read Me says the extension is intended for PowerTower, PowerCenter and PowerCurve computers only, but it worked with my machine.
I installed a Sonnet G3/L2 upgrade card last week and aside from the audio stuttering problem Dennis reported in his posting, my C600's acting erratically during startups. I get "Unimplemented Trap" freeze errors, but after a second restart, the problem usually goes away. Any ideas on what's causing this error?
