The C500 and C600 accepts both EDO and FPM 2K DIMMS.  But.....
If you put in a accelerator card over the CPU slot or in the cache slot,
suddenly it is not happy with FPM anymore.  It was in a technote at the
Newer Technology site but I don't know where it is now since the company
went out of business.
Your only luck with accelerator cards is with EDO DIMMs only.
You also may have to seat the DIMM more than once to get it right.

Been there, done that.
