Hi, folks -
I am wondering if HDST extensions for firewire support has to be loaded when an external firewire drive is formatted with HDST. This relates to testing the drive on other firewire equipped Apple machines. (My S900 has all extensions loaded.) I've been having problems with the EZQuest drive and tried it on some other machines with no luck. (Drive not initializing for mounting onto the desktop.) Let's say I want to take the drive to another location equipped with modern Apple machines, would I be able to plug in the drive and mount it onto the desktop without the HDST extensions present on those machines ? (Apple Drive Setup does not work on these drives, so HDST has to be used for formatting.) Just trying to make sure it is absolutely the drive that is defective before I send it off (with my files) for a replacement. Thanks, Alan -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
