I'm working through the messages linearly, so I now see that you tried my earlier suggestion before I suggested it. I think that Chrisso is correct. My suspicion is that you are into a realm analogous to trying to get an IDE drive formatted on a C500/600 to work on an ATA card without reinitializing the drive. For some reason, drives on SCSI busses or on ATA busses are configured a little differently from each other and I think this is going to prevent you from getting interoperability between your ZIP and other ZIPs. The only ray of hope I can see is that there are IDE ZIPs on later machines with built-in ATA busses and I've never heard that they have the problem you're having. But again, I don't think that a drive formatted on one of the (e.g.) G4 tower's ATA busses will work on an ATA card without reinitializing. There's just something different about how they configure the media. I don't know any details at all though, so I'm on shakey ground here.
