I know next to nothing about the C600, however, on the S900 if the 
front audio jack comes unplugged, the speaker and rear audio jack are 
turned off automatically.    Assuming the Umax engineers used a 
similar arrangement on the C600, you may also want to re-check both 
ends of the cable between the motherboard and the front audio jack.
