Hi again.
I still cannot get OSX to install. After I put in the Ultra/Tek66, the new
Maxtor 60 GB drive, downloaded the firmware update, I still get a message "
OSX cannot be installed on this computer". After a few tries and still
getting that message it did something very strange. It would start to boot
up and get to the smiley Mac and there it would sit on this grey screen. I
got so mad at this guy sitting there grinning at me that I had to force
quit. Then I took it into the shop where it has been for the past week. They
took out the UltraWide SCSI card, which my main 4.? drive booted from and
hooked it to the motherboard card, took out the Ultra/Tek card and booted up.
My other SCSI drive showed up again. They put the Ultra/Tek card back in and
the Maxtor drive showed up also. Partitioned the Maxtor so that one part was
less than 8G and then tried to install OSX. It seemed to be going fine and
then it stopped with all this stuff on the screen about a panic. First I
thought they had stopped for a picnic, but no, it was a panic. So now here I
am back to OS9.1 and very frustrated. I would really like to try OSX so if
anyone could please, please help me, I would be forever thankful. By the
way, I had e-mailed OWC but have received no reply.
Thanks to all for any advice that I have been given.

                                     Jacqueline
