Welcome Andrew, yes, many of us are running OS X on our S900's and J700's. It can be tricky, but with a little homework you can avoid most of the pitfalls. I have a Pioneer 32x CDROM that didn't work for early version OS X install attempts (I had to use an old 4x8 Yamaha burner instead), but when I attempted to do a clean install of Jaguar, the Pioneer did work. And Jaguar also made it easier to install on machines with ATI video cards, so things have improved somewhat over earlier OS X versions. And XPostFacto has gotten better as well. Your video card may well be a problem, and your Toshiba CDROM may or may not work. You'll just have to try to boot the X install CD with that Toshiba to find out. But the best advice I can give you is to read everything on Ryan Rempel's web site (hosted by OWC)... http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/ You'll need CacheControlX to disable the motherboard cache, and configure your G3 card under OS X... http://www.powerlogix.com/downloads/index.html But one thing at a time... Wait and see if anyone here has any comments about installing OS X with NewerTech upgrade cards (I have an XLR8 CarrierZif G3), or anything else about your setup. Then, above all else, read Ryan's info in it's entirety. By the way... Is it your main (only) machine, and is it an S900? -Howie -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
