Here'a bit more info. I reinstalled my older scsi drive to bus 0 id 0 and another older scsi drive to id 4. These work.
I reattached the Maxtor drive and the profiler says it see's it at bus 2 id 0. However, it doesn't come up in the finder. There remains just some clicking when the drive is being accessed. To me this means something is wrong with the volume header. Not sure what to do about this though. I guess its gonna be a HD recovery thing if I can find one. Of course diskwarrior, norton utilities, techtools resided on both the volumes of the maxtor drive I created, so no luck there. Every once in a while the computer tries to access the maxtor with the resulting clicking. Mb I will try the cuda reset etc... Still waiting for the more technologically inclined to offer some advice. cheers, tim >HELP :-( > >Any advice is welcome on this. > >I had been running a 40 Gb maxtor on my tempo IDE card as my main >startup disk on my S900/g3 450 upgrade - mac os 9.1 (it showed as >scsi bus 2 ID 2).
