Hi, Nancy -
Great writeup on the subject.
Specific info that I can use.
Only thing I can add is I don't use the UPS for the priner.
The APC BackUPS 650-Pro supplies power to.....the S900, 19" SONY montor, CD
burner, the EZQuest Firewire drive and Nikon scanner.
The EZQuest, burner and scanner is turned on only when needed and
occasionally a Zip drive is plugged in.
I do have a APC Surge Arrest plugged into the BackUPS....but never did the
math on whether or not that is kosher.
As mentioned in previous threads, my main concern is with voltage
regulation, not surge protection.
For me, voltage regulation is where the BackUPS Pro line shines and makes me
feel more secure then with the surge arrest feature.
Thanks again for the math lessons, which will be handy.
I should do some figuring.
Alan.
