I've been experiencing an annoying little problem that I cannot isolate and I'm hoping someone else has come across it. It seems started about a month ago. I'm using Internet Explorer 5.1.5, OS 9.1 and Acrobat Reader 5. When I try to download a pdf file, it instead begins loading in the browser.
I keep switching the IE (File Helper Settings) preferences folder to 'Save to File' but something keeps defaulting it back to 'View With Browser' the next time I start up the machine. I've made sure that 'Allow Background Downloading' and 'Autoconfigure Browser' is checked and 'Allow Fast Web View' is unchecked in Acrobat. I've trashed IE prefs, rebuilt DT, cudad (for other reasons) but something just keeps switching these settings back again. I've even gone through each of my drives to make sure the apps there are each set correctly. I'm perplexed. I've always been able to alter this setting permanently but its just not working now. Has anybody else run across this? Thanks, Dave -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
