You have to use XPostFacto to boot into your OS X volume, never use the Startup Disk CP in OS 9. You'll now have to pull your PRAM battery for ten, or so minutes to get back to normal. I think it's something to do with the NVRAM getting corrupted, and I don't think a simple zap of PRAM will suffice. Pulling the battery is the recommended cure as I recall. You can, of course use the Startup Pref Pane to go from OS X into an OS 9 volume, but not visa versa. XPFacto has to load it's files each and every time to allow the legacy Macs to boot successfully into X. Unfortunately the E100 card is completely useless under OS X. I packed mine away and got a FireWire card to run an external burner. Lots of sacrifices when dealing with X on an old machine, like the Pioneer CDROM, which I also have. I also have 272 mb's RAM, and it's not really enough for X I'm thinking. -Howie -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
