Apple System Profiler will see the video card, and if it shows it as "tt128"
or something like that, it's the ixMicro TwinTurbo card... and it should
work fine for the first install of X.
Your symptoms are very much like what happens when an unsupported video card
is used during the first reboot after installation. But the TwinTurbo is
okay so it might be another card that's the culprit. Perhaps the IDE card
this time. Hope not.

But if you're still stuck in the black screen of death...
At best, a zap of your PRAM (let it bong 3 times) will get your video back.
At worst the removal of the PRAM battery for ten minutes will get you back
up.
(also just a friendly reminder... always use XPostFacto to boot into OS X,
and never use the Startup Disk in OS 9)

If you get past the black screen and back into OS 9, you may just want to
clear that OS X partition and try it again. It seems that you came close to
success the first time. It can, for some reason, take a few tries sometimes.
