also high blood pressure, congestion, and in my case, it's often an
indication that i'm likely to get a migraine (and i have low blood
pressure, normally, it goes up with migraines).

when people lose their hearing, or partially lose it, the high
frequencies generally go first. in 7th grade i had a friend who was
very much "high deaf", if i tried i could talk at too high a pitch for
him to hear! cats likely can hear much higher frequencies than humans,
so it may not be that relatively high pitched to them, and they likely
respond to sound a little differently with their kitty brains than we
do, and more than likely they can hear even "quite" tv sets that do the
same thing and have gotten used to it. when things have done that
before, it depends greatly on my mood etc. as to whether or not it
bothers me or if i even notice it, although it may always be there. you
could try switching monitor resolutions, that should change the sound at
least briefly in pitch and would identify where it's coming from. it
likely is the monitor, and as far as i know there isn't a damn thing you
can do about it. cats like monitors, monitors don't like cats!
