Given the dismal potential for resale of my beloved S900, I'm considering giving the system to my son: What do you as a group think of the feasibility of: a) installing a Sonnet G4/800 board in the following system?: S900/233 (stock), Matshita 506 CD (stock), 3 internal HD's (2-10,000 rpm Cheetahs, 1-WDE 10,000 rpm for a total of @20G's), SyJet 1.5 G internal, SyQuest 270M external, Radius Pressview 21" monitor, Epson Stylus Color 900 printer, Epson Expression 636 and Umax VistaScan scanners, Paperport Vx scanner, running OS 8.6 and 9.1? b) Will he face additional upgrade requirements (and expenses), and will these costs exceed that of replacing the entire system with something new - say, an iMac G4/800 w/17" monitor? c) If you believe it's worth installing the Sonnet 800, what CD burner recommendations would you have to replace the stock Matshita CD? d) Does your suggested drive come with all necessary software?
