a)These are all nice upgrades that should work smoothly with the S900.
b)additional upgrade for the S900 has more potential in the way of ram slots
and pci slots and bays. How much
ram and video ram are possible upgrades and costs that one might incur.
5volt ram is pretty cheap now, I
have even seen a 5volt ram that runs at 10ns. Even a Voodoo 5 card had
official mac drivers when 3dfx was still
in business as a company. ATI always seems to have mac support too. These
upgrades would still be quite less
than a new eMac. The one thing that will suffer between the S900 and the
eMac is the S900's bus speed. So far,
I can only run a 55Mhz system bus speed with no problems. An eMac has a
system bus speed of 100Mhz. Has
anyone on the SM list been able to tweak out their S900 to run faster than
55Mhz? And at 55Mhz, it is still a 22%
increase in bus speed over stock. And being stuck to a built-in17" monitor
on the eMac is a downgrade from
your Radius Pressview 21". USB upgrades are still another possible option
with the S900 also.
c)I would install any internal SCSI cd burner that is supported by both FWB
cd-rom toolkit and Roxio's Toast 5
titanium. I run a Matshita CD-R CW-7502. It is a bit older & slower, but I
have had no problems with it's
compatibility. I use the FWB drivers and extensions and Toast just works
with it when I run the application.
d) Please refer to FWB and Toast 5 Titanium compatibility for cd burner
options. Make sure that both
Programs support the unit and you should have no problems. As always, a
faster one with more cache is
better.

Hope this helps...
