I have an Astra 2400s and they are very competent with a high
optical resolution of 600x1200 - which is the only spec that matters
really - anything above the optical res is just interpolated res or
'educated guesswork' res. The 2400s also interfaces with the Umax high
end Magicscan app and BinuscanPro so will perform multiple scans with one
setup and automate colour control.
If I bought another I would go for the higher optical res Powerlooks
or Mirage scanners - they go quite cheap on the auctions.
