Hello all, I'm new to this list but I've been on a few other LEM lists for awhile now.
I picked up a C500/200 the other day that a school district was getting rid of. Seems like a nice little machine if I could only get it working. At first all I got was the power light and the power supply fan running. Took it apart, found the dead battery, replaced it and got the same results. Reseated the cache card, the CPU and the lone RAM DIMM and now at power up it chimes and I hear the hard drive spin up. But there is no video and I don't hear any other drive activity that indicates it might be booting. Tried it without the RAM DIMM and cache card with the same results. I tried a known good video card from a Power Computing clone in one of the PCI slots and get no video from that either. Any hints or tips that might get this system running? I'm familiar with some Power Computing clones and various Power Macs and all my tricks that usually work on those aren't working on the C500. Maybe it's just dead, fortunately I got it for cheap and if nothing else I can rescue some parts out of it but I'd love to get it working. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. -- John Impellizzeri mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
