Elliot,

I started my upgrade experience with a 233 zif via an XLR8 CarrierZif card.
It was an improvement over the stock 200 mhz 604e processor that came with
my S900. I then moved up to a 350 mhz G3 zif, well, actually it was a 333
mhz zif, but I overclocked the sucker. A massive improvement, all in all.

Anyway, moving up to a G3, or a G4, from the original 604 PPC processor is a
vast improvement. Both thumbs up from my vantage point.

The L2 cache can be disabled via software.

Yes, the performance increase is substantial. I can't lie.
