On to the next project. I just purchased a DVD/RAM drive but am having problems writing to it. It is Model LF-D211A with an IDE interface. I am having trouble copying anything to disk because I get the alert that the disk is copy protected and 'disk is locked'. I have turned this off copy protect in the dvd caddy.
I can see a pre-formatted dvd/RAM disk just fine on the desktop but can't copy anything to it. I also just bought a new Panasonic DVD/RAM disk and cannot format it either. It goes through the motions of telling me this disk is unreadible and do you want to format it. When I do, it again tells me this disk is locked. I am only trying to format it as HFS or HFS+, not UDF. I am using OS 9.1 and have it hooked up to a VST Ultratek ATA/66 I have tried different formatting utilities as well as repair utilities, which also get the same message. The unit plays/reads cd/s just fine. I suspect it would probably copy from a dvd/ram with data as well but I don't have anything with data yet to be 100% sure. Does anybody have any ideas what might be preventing me from writing to a dvd/ram disk? Thanks again, Dave -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
