Hi Alan,

Yes I'm using an Epson 8.3 otherwise known as an 880i. It is USB on a
fairly generic USB 1.1 card.
I've had this printer for over a year now and have had absolutely no
problems making connections to the printer. No stalls like with the Okidata
black toner PS Printer I have.

HOWEVER, I will rant here about the God-awful amount of ink these inkjet
printers use. Shop carefully because good quality ink for doing prints like
it sounds as you are, is not cheap and empties those ink wells real fast.
And so far I haven't found an aftermarket ink maker with as good as quality
ink as the manufacturer (Epson or HP). Aftermarket appears to use a
water-based ink, which allows printouts to get screwed up if a little drop
of anything gets on them. (If anybody knows of a good quality
aftermarket ink, I sure would like to hear.) The ink sales is where
Epson makes their money. It really sucks and they pretty much rip us off
with their high prices for something that doesn't go very far at all.

One thing I guess to watch for is to be able to change only one color if
only it goes out. With mine, all the colors (except black) are in the same
well so if one goes empty, all that extra ink from the other colors goes to
waste.

This is probably more then you were asking about but sometimes those words
just roll off the fingers...
