256 MB SDRAM DIMMs are common. But don't install one (SDRAM) in a
machine that takes FPM DIMMs. It shouldn't be possible because of
the offset notch in the bottom of the DIMM, but some folks still
manage it. I have a 9600 board here (close relative of the S900)
which is ruined because an SDRAM DIMM was installed into one of the
memory slots.

If you do find a real source for actual 256 MB FPM or EDO DIMMs
please let the list know. That would be very cool. It would be
especially interesting to the owners of Power Computing clones based
on the Catalyst motherboard. Those machines only have four DIMM
slots, but are supposed to support 256 MB DIMMs. So it would double
their memory capacity if 256 MB DIMMs were available.
