One little heads-up, David. When my S900 died sometime back, I 
eventually got it going by swapping back in my original 604e 
processor (along with CUDA and PRAM resets). Once it had booted up 
successfully, I put my G3/500 upgrade back in and I've been running 
smoothly (more or less) ever since. My point is that the 604e seems 
to be able to do some kind of reset that the G3 can't and that - once 
reset - the G3 (or other upgrade) can function. Good luck on your 
troubleshooting.
