Robyn (high priestess) et al,

Again, thanks for the hand holding. Have installed the DVD-rom drive on
its own IDE channel with a ribbon cable which looks like the wires are bigger
than the ultra ata cable.

I noticed that the audio cable (very small) doesn't fit the new drive.
Is that why I do not hear music when an audio CD is inserted? It launches
the Apple CD player, once I enabled the Apple extension. Do I need to find a
new and different audio cable?

For ha-has, I left the original drive in. It still needs the FWB CD-rom
toolkit extension for anything to happen there. But it plays the audio CD,
with the little audio cable attached as normal.

Both drives read data CD's ok. I inserted Wacky Jack's for old times'
sake. Don Pardo's voice has never been clearer.

As for the DVD-rom drive being able to boot from a CD, I don't know.
This is as far as I can go until my $5.00 plus shipping (eBay) Supermac
keyboard arrives. You see, Daddy broke off a connector pin on the ADB
cable... Sssorry.
