Hi again and thanks for the responses from Will S. and Dan. I have 2
S900's running on 9.1.1, one (S900#1) of which has a PowerLogix 300mhz
upgrade the other is running with the (S900#2) 604e at 233mhz. I am a
webmaster and work from S900#1 ) with a 19 inch monitor the S900#2 is
connected to my 17 inch Viewsonic and a 14 inch Apple monitor which I
use for watching Ebay auctions for both myself and my son. We both sell
and buy.

The Acard purchase was to add the IDE capability to my machines as well
as my sons S900 and his Power Computing machines. We have 5 Tower
machines not including my retired C600 ( which is looking for a new
home. Contact off list) and my sons Laptop's. I have tried many
different card placements to see if I could get it to work with the
Polaroid BurnMax 48 with no luck. My Sonnet ATA 100 card does work fine
with the Polaroid CDRW, no problems burning disks when I have that card
in the machine. I also might mention I have a 24X Cyberdrive CD-ROM in
#1. I put the Acard in my friends 8600 MAC with a Plexwriter 48 CDRW and
had no problems with that machine. I did send an email to Acard two days
ago, still no answer from them. BTW this is the same card that OWC
sells. I bought mine on Ebay.

While trying to get this problem solved , I came up with another one. I
bought a 5 port USB 2.0/Firewire Card on Ebay and put it in S900#1 and
had all sorts of problems with my USB mouse (freezing) the CD that came
with it had a pdf file which said I have to connect a mini power cable
to the card. Anyone have any ideas where I can find one or should I
splice the one from my defunct Power Computing PowerBase LP240 into the
power cables? Any ideas welcomed as I am losing time on my web site work
(30 of them).

One other weird problem is with my 40 GB external USB Acomdata drive
which freezes when I try to copy material to it. BTW that is when I am
using the Keystone 2 Port USB card and I have it connected to one of the
two ports. The other port goes to a powered hub for the rest of my USB items.

I have been receiving the Digest now for 4 months now and have found it
to be the most informative source of information not only on the Great
Umax machines but in general on everything MAC. Great news about the
Radeon 7000. I will look over any comments and suggestions and try them
all since I am gradually losing my cool on this.
