Tom - it's a 10/100 MBPS PCI-bus ethernet adapter made by StarTech - ADSL is ethernet - I thought I HAD to upgrade to 8.6 to use ethernet on the C500. Interestingly, some of the advice coming back (thank you John, Nancy) is saying don't bother with 8.6, go to OS9, and upgrade the RAM. I think I will try to take it a step at a time: add some RAM, go to 8.5 then 8.6, get a router, then maybe dabble with 9. What a great group!
