Chrisso, A few thoughts...though I don't own a DV camera I and others on the list have DVD players in their machines.
I put a DVD Drive in a Firewire enclosure and no "Hickups" audio and video.. the advantages are very noticeable in fact "reccommended" Firewire is good.
