... and then you may have to configure the drive for Slave or Master, as appropriate (or Single if it's the only drive on the card). This is especially true if the computer sees the card but then the card can't see the drive, preventing Drive Setup from seeing it too. Many drives come today set up for Cable-Select which makes the controller sort out what devices are where.
