Is this really as devastating as it seems? We don't give Apple very much credit, do we? Have they earned that over the years of their existence? I have always found that there were far more critical slams at Apple than I'd ever seen in any P.C. company in print or on the web. The Apple machinery has had its low points, but geez, folks, I've never ever seen a company selling computers as willing to share its software to keep it's legacy machinery moving as Apple is doing. We keep the SuperMacs and 68k Macs and Power Macs rolling along by simply visiting the site and downloading from a huge list of freely available stuff. You won't see that at Microsoft, Dell, Compaq, HP, eMachines..... My money's still on Apple. It remains a superior computer and Operating System source. And, sadly, a very large and often struck target in the technology world, despite having one of the top; and longest-running success rates in computing. I guess it's the ultra-high expectations that their followers demand. Still, for me, it's MORE than met it's goals in all the Macs and clones I've owned and depended on for consistent performance. I've owned nearly all of them, and I love 'em. Far more than any P.C. maker's offering I have owned. The Macs have class and show it. Not at all like the metal Windows boxen. I've never had one make me feel proud to own it. It's just a utility box. The Mac box is always a work of art. JEff -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
