That was when the multiplier for the CPU upgrade chips was limited to only 8x the bus speed. The Sonnet 800MHz allows 16x bus speeds, hence a CPU speed of 800MHz for our S900 and J700s. Once these upgrades come down a bit more in price they will represent the best bang for buck upgrades for our legacy machines, although there may be some incompatibility issues dependent on hardware and software config. (best to do a search on the www.xlr8yourmac.com upgrade database to check specifics and if it is likely to affect your own setup).
