Have the HDs been formated while connected to the card? I don't know if it
is still the case, but on the older ATA (i.e. Sonnet Tempo ATA/66) cards,
the drives wouldn't mount until they were formatted. Sometimes they would,
but 9 out of 10, they wouldn't.
