Bill Smith*********
I have not been following this thread too closely, so don't know your configuration.
I have an S900, 233 PPC, 2- 9Gig scsi on Bus #0, 2- 2Gig + a 4Gig scsi on bus #1 in an PC Box used as an External scsi box and the ATA Acard driving bus #2.
I just ( last week) installed the 120 Gig IBM Deskstar ATA Hard Drive from OWC. At the same time I installed an UltraATA 133/100 Pro card (SIIG) also from OWC.
The install sheet from OWC for the drive shows how the jumpersshould be set.
I had no previous ATA device so I left the settings as they came which was a jumper between G and F and a jumper between A and B which indicates: Device 0 (Master)(shipping default) with no slave device.
If you don't have the install sheet I can scan it and email it to you.
I installed the ATA drive in the vertical slot at the front face bottom of the case. I chose this location because the cable routing was less restrictive of air circulation. Some day I will get all round cables.
The Acard is in Slot B1 and is reported as an Acard,6280M, ScsiProbe says Acard CN v2.14.
Slot A1 has the Video Card reported in ASP as ATY,mach64
Slot 4 has a Firewire Card
Slot 5 has a USB card
The drive did not show on the DeskTop at start up after installation, so I used Drive Setup v2.03 and initialized the drive with the options of my choice.
The drive now appears and one partition is being used as the StartUp drive in OS9.1
Let me know if you need the drive setup sheet,
Ernie
