Would like to use one of my S9's as a remote server, by remote I mean stuffed in a corner of my workshop without a monitor. Can anyone advise a laptop (Apple preferred) that has video input and will allow pass through of external video source ?

Have tried software programs that allow something like this but these tend to gobble up processor power.

Typically I need to look at the server only a few times a week and don't have the space for an extra monitor.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Does the Mac have any software to allow remote control of another Mac, so you don't actually need to see its video output? Also, you could drop ten bucks on an old 14" monitor at the goodwill, they aren't even very heavy. That is what my daughter's Mac is hooked up to, its more than adequate for playing solitaire while Rose is going to sleep.
