Hello everyone
Someone wrote to me off-list and asked about the dip
switch settings on the ZIF carrier card. I thought I
would post my reply here as well:

Use the dip switch settings for the zif as suggested
by the instructions that came with the Powerlogix zif
if you were going to install the zif into a BEIGE G3.

The zif carrier card should be set for a 50 mhz bus
and I used a 12x multiplier setting.(or faster
depending on how stable your system is at higher bus
speeds-OVERCLOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK! I DESTROYED a
processor and zif carrier card about 3 years ago
overclocking.) The settings for a 50 mhz bus/12x
multiplier are in your XLR8 zif carrier manual and I
believe they are:
ON: 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,10,12
OFF: 3,5,11
You might want to double check those before using
them.
My S900 bus speed is rock solid at 55 mhz and I don't
feel the need to try to go any higher.

I have been told that the muliplier settings don't
really matter as the zif multiplier is controlled by
the CPU Director software from Powerlogix.
Good luck.
George
