I'd always thought that if you take in the analog board from the monitor, the plastic housings and the glass CRT separately, you may get it recycled. Otherwise there's about a $15 or more fee to dispose them. YET the CPU's, having analog boards with that "heavy metal", are perfectly legitimately recyclable.
